Canon HV30 unboxing

My first post in a very long time. I've been lazy with this blogging thing but I'm gonna give another stab at it.

On with my "first" post....

Since my mother's 60th birthday celebration was coming up I knew she would love to have it recorded on video. For several years she's been complaining that we hardly have video of family events and whatnot, just because we didn't have one in our possession or if we did it was either borrowed or sold, and ashamed of busting out the old Video8 camcorder from the mid-90's. Since our household has been spoiled by HDTV content for years it would be only logical to pick up an HD camcorder as a complement. I've been a Canon camera fanboy for years but never owned one of their camcorders. I found one that was in my price range and had lots of bang to the buck droolness to it. Found one on Amazon.com.

First real test...on the treadmill

I didn't get the reading I was hoping for. I did a short 10-minute plateau jog and there seems to be an error in the data recording. I'm going to have to tweak the settings a little bit more to get the desired result.
